2013-2016

Dzięki Bogu już weekend – a serial entertainment programme broadcast on Friday evenings on TVP2.

The first series premiered on 1 March 2013, the second from 6 September 2013, the third from 7 March 2014 and the fourth from 4 March to 27 May 2016.

The programme consisted of sketches, songs and improvisations performed by the most popular Polish cabaret groups, as well as by invited guests, most of whom were actors and musicians.

The programme had several features that clearly distinguished it from other shows with a similar formula:

From episode to episode, the cabarets changed their role as hosts of the show. This includes writing the episode’s script and presenting the show, which means that the variety of episodes showcases the different styles of Polish cabaret.
Each episode has a different theme to which the set design and presentation are adapted, often with actors playing characters related to the theme. The theme was also referenced, to varying degrees, in the content of most of the performances.
The presenters of the episode, together with the audience, would come up with the theme of the sketch, often very absurd, which the presenters of the next episode would have to carry out during the episode.
