OPOLE 6.06.2026 LIVE

The third day of the 63rd National Polish Song Festival in Opole kicked off with the ‘Autobiografia’ concert, organised to mark the upcoming 80th birthday of the legendary songwriter Bogdan Olewicz. What happened on stage?

The “Autobiografia” show was dedicated to the work of Bogdan Olewicz, the songwriter, to mark his 80th birthday on 28 June.

It was songs featuring his lyrics – in new and original arrangements – that were performed at the Opole Festival by the biggest stars of the Polish music scene.

Performers included, in order: Krystyna Prońko (“Jesteś lekiem na całe zło”), Kamil Bednarek (“Wielka miłość nie wybiera” by Seweryn Krajewski), Krzysztof Cugowski and the Mistrzów band (“Ratujmy co się da” by Budka Suflera), Alicja and Mietek Szcześniak (“Moje jedyne marzenie” by Anna Jantar), Halina Mlynkova (“Julia i ja” by Zdzisława Sośnicka), Olga Szomańska, Michał Lech and Echomotion (“Żegnaj lato na rok”), Urszula (“Rysa na szkle”), Janusz Radek (“A kto się kocha w tobie” by Zdzisława Sośnicka), Doda with the male backing vocals of Echomotion and guitar support from Jacek Królik of Zespół Mistrzów (“Na na” by Lady Pank), Universe and Echomotion (“You Have What I Don’t Have” and “Silly Frog”), Golden Life (“You and Me”), Kuba Badach (“It’s Not Time Yet” by Seweryn Krajewski), Alicja Majewska with Włodzimierz Korcz on piano (“Pamiętam ciebie z tamtych lat” by Krzysztof Krawczyk), Andrzej Rybiński and Halina Mlynkova (“Czas relaksu”) and Natalia Kukulska (“Tylko mnie poproś do tańca” by Anna Jantar).

The singer emphasised before the performance that she had done this especially for Bogdan Olewicz.

“It’s going to be a very moving experience for me. I’ve decided that this will also mark the end of my time performing my mum’s songs. I haven’t done it for a long time – there were exceptions, and now there have been a few occasions. I think it will be very meaningful for me,” said Natalia Kukulska.

The duet between Maciej Balcar and Mietek Szcześniak was also deeply moving, as they performed the ballad “Niepokonani” by the band Perfect, featuring the line “You have to know when to leave the stage undefeated”.

The concert concluded once again with Krystyna Prońko, accompanied by jazz pianist Przemysław Raminiak (“Modlitwa o miłość prawdziwą”), Olga Szomańska, Janusz Radek and guitarist Dariusz Kozakiewicz (Perfect’s “Kołysanka dla nieznajomej”), Perfect and Łukasz Drapała, and Natalia Kukulska (Perfect’s “Niewiele ci mogę dać”).
