Marta Zalewska, her ensemble and the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy perform a contemporary interpretation of poems by Jan Kochanowski, combining Renaissance poetry, the sounds of the lute, fiddle and other ancient instruments with a rocking guitar sound. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Marta Zalewska, composing music to poems by Jan Kochanowski, proves that they remain timeless and work well as lyrics for contemporary songs.

The „Don’t Give Up Hope” concert at the Kromer Festival Biecz will go down as one of the best in the history of the event. Marta Zalewska, together with her band and the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, presented the audience with a very contemporary, at times even rock, interpretation of a classic of Polish literature, namely the songs of Jan Kochanowski. The audience quickly got carried away by the music and did not want to let the artists off the stage.
