This is a television event dedicated to Republika. Polish music stars will perform on stage, accompanied by former members of the band. The concert, „Once in a Million Years: Songs by Republika,” is available for free online on the TVP VOD website.
Republika is a legendary band.
The concert’s main idea is to remind people of the band’s phenomenon. Their songs have been played on radio stations since the 1980s, and they still have many fans throughout Poland. The event is also a tribute to Republika’s charismatic leader, Grzegorz Ciechowski.
Who will perform?
The stage will feature outstanding Polish artists: Julia Pietrucha, Mery Spolsky, Renata Przemyk, Kuba Badach, Piotr Zioła, Jacek Bończyk, and Michał Wiraszko. The band Czarno-Białe Ślady will also perform. They will be accompanied by musicians from the band Republika: Leszek Biolik, Paweł Kuczyński, Zbigniew Krzywański, and Sławomir Ciesielski. These musicians will once again bring the band’s iconic sound to life. Audience members will hear the band’s greatest hits, including „Telefony,” „Biała Flaga,” „Kombinat,” and „Sexy Doll.”

A highlight of the concert will be a performance by Biolik, Krzywański, and Ciesielski. They will play one of Republika’s final songs intended for their 2002 album. The show will feature unique visuals and archival footage from Telewizja Polska.
