EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2025 – JUSTYNA STECZKOWSKA GAJA

BAZYLEA 17.05.2025

The 69th Eurovision Song Contest took place from May 13 to 17, 2025, at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel. The European Broadcasting Union and Swiss broadcaster SRG SSR organized the concerts. This was the third time the contest was held in Switzerland.

The final of the 69th Eurovision Song Contest has come and gone. After an evening full of emotions, surprises, and spectacular performances, JJ, representing Austria, was crowned the winner.

Justyna Steczkowska, tipped by some commentators as an artist with the potential to surprise, ultimately placed in the second half of the scoreboard.

Poland scored 17 points in the jury vote. Our representative received 139 points from viewers, giving her a total of 156 points. This placed her 14th in the final standings.

During Saturday’s final in Basel, Steczkowska displayed vocal precision and emotional depth. Full of power and inner strength, she played the role of Gaia, Mother Nature, who „spoke” through a ritual dance of light, sound, and symbols. The performance was phenomenal but so unconventional and demanding that it may not have appealed to less engaged viewers.

However, Steczkowska did not lose the hearts of her fans. In fact, she gained a new audience, demonstrated the strength of a female artist, and proved that you can be yourself even on such a spectacular stage. That is a value that cannot be measured by points.

Well-known music journalist Marek Sierocki commented on Justyna Steczkowska’s performance: „She did everything,” showing his positive assessment of her preparation and performance. Sierocki emphasized that Steczkowska prepared excellent choreography, won the pre-selections with flying colors, and actively promoted the song abroad. Sierocki believes that her performance was professional and should be fairly assessed.

„Sensational! It blew me away. The song and everything else—the whole performance. Justyna sang beautifully. Everything was perfectly prepared. Respect to Jacek Dybowski, the director, for his world-class production. The dancers were great, too. They showcased the latest trends in dance and stage movement, similar to those seen among the world’s biggest stars. I think this performance will go down in history” he said.

Steczkowska’s performance was spectacular, featuring dynamic choreography, violin playing, and the effect of floating above the stage on ropes. While the judges were not generous with their points, the audience clearly appreciated the show, giving it high marks.

In summary, Justyna Steczkowska presented a professional and spectacular performance at Eurovision 2025. Both the audience and Marek Sierocki appreciated it, even though she finished in 14th place.
